Job Description

Position Purpose: 

The Meter Reader will be a key part of the team responsible for collecting meter information and maintaining good working relationships with all customers.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Directly reporting to Supervisor.
• Professional service to account relationships.
• Building customer relationships as a key member of management team.
• Gathering and consolidating data from varied sources.
• Managing field meter data collection for multiple customers on a daily and monthly basis.
• Support to field inquiry requests to help manage problem resolution for customer utility-billing issues.
• Coordinating and assisting with field information for new customer account creation.
• Support researching and identifying field procedures for the authorizations of access to customers meter locations and utility information.
• Proactively identify abnormal metering situations and advise the Energy Management team.
• Supporting administrative needs of the business including but not limited to accounting reporting the sales process data entry back-up phone support and general administration.
• Help out with other related maintenance work when necessary.
• GIS new and existing water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Assist on riding the garbage truck when needed.
• On call rotation with the maintenance staff.

Qualifications :

Education/Experience/Background: 

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Some energy utility or related experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

• Good PC and Microsoft Office skills.
• Attention to details and ability to review materials for accuracy.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong telephone etiquette.
• Ability/flexibility to learn and apply new skills.
• Ability to navigate through a variety of computer applications.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• High level of professionalism and integrity.
